Conduct Research with CHHM's state-of-the-art DXA System

The Centre for Hip Health and Mobility is now offering research members and external users access to a state-of-the-art Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) System directly in the Centre, the Hologic Discovery W.

This model was moved  from our Mobile Lab into the Centre so that members and external users could easily access the superior performance of this piece of imaging technology.

Our DXA system is a clinical tool used to measure bone density and estimate fracture risk.

DXA systems have an Advanced Body Composition assessment feature that produces colour images displaying the distribution of fat, lean mass, bone and fat mass index.

To use this equipment for your research,  please contact Danmei Liu, Research Operations Manager:

CHHM's DXA is a state-of-the-art imaging tool for researchers in Vancouver and beyond.
