Dr. Heather McKay’s Action Schools! BC Project Showcased in CIHR’s Biannual 'Show Me the Evidence'
Praising the Action Schools! BC project as “an excellent example of health research evidence making a difference in people’s lives,” the Canadian Institutes of Health Research selected it as the subject of this article for the Spring 2013 print (PDF) and online editions of Show Me the Evidence.
Only three projects are selected to be featured in each edition of Show Me the Evidence, a twice-yearly CIHR publication focused on telling stories about how and where health research evidence produced by CIHR-supported researchers is being used.
CHHM's Director, Dr. McKay is Principal Investigator of Action Schools! BC, a provincial initiative to support daily physical activity and healthy eating learning outcomes in BC’s elementary and middle schools. It is a best practices model that helps teachers and school administrators create individualized action plans to maximize the impact on the healthy living habits of their students and school environment.
