Senator Victor Oh visits the Centre
On July 7th Senator Victor Oh visited the Centre to learn more about our Centre and the exciting advancements the Screw Cutter Team is making.
The Screw Cutter turns a tray of randomly sized screws into the precise sized screw needed for the patients’ body. It finishes a screw with a tip that gives the screw traction, enabling it to be screwed into the bone easier, alleviating pain for the patient and making it easier for the surgeon to complete the surgery with accuracy and ease.
The Screw Cutter Team is working on scaling up their invention to make it more readily available for the thousands of operating rooms across the world that don’t currently have the screw inventory they need.
Senator Oh was appointed to the Senate of Canada in January 2013. He is currently a member of the Standing Senate Committees on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and Agriculture and Forestry. He is also a member of several interparliamentary associations and friendship groups. He is currently the Co-Chair of the Canada-China Legislative Association, which promotes exchange of information between Canadian parliamentarians and their counterparts in China.
