Vivian Chung is a licensed professional engineer and an Engineers-in-Scrubs (EiS) fellow. With four years of industry experience heading process improvement projects and advising at every level of management within the manufacturing sector, Vivian has a special interest in applying her expertise within healthcare—focusing on improving innovation pipelines and addressing gaps in patient care.  

Her research includes the development of an affordable imaging protocol to measure surgical success in knee replacements patients (supervisors: Dr. Tony Hodgson, Dr. Bas Masri, Dr. Shahram Amiri), the development of a device to facilitate safe fracture repairs when surgeons in developing countries are forced to operate under resource constraints (Dr. Piotr Blachut, Dr. Peter O'Brien), and streamlining analytical protocols for public health research involving GPS and accelerometry data (Dr. Maureen Ashe, Dr. Meghan Winters, Dr. Christine Voss).
